The Matron is an archetype that is unrecognized in many paths. Defender of the hearth, and protector of the young, the matron is evisioned as a pre-menopausal woman, complete with hot flashes. Thus any archetype who might be titled "the Bitch Goddess" is likely a Matron. Her strong sword arm, keeps those she loves safe, and helps us to prune the dead leaves of negativity and worn-out patterns from our lives. Invoke her for change, removing blockages, protection, self defense, and emotional/mental/psychic house cleaning. Some Autumn/Matron Goddesses include: the Morrigan, Sekhmet, Kali, Lilith, Oya and Athene.
