Epona RhiannonEPONA (Britain and Gaul) AND RHIANNON (Wales) are basically different faces of the same Goddess of the Earth, Moon and Sea. She is a goddess of fertility, fecundity and of freedom - she could not be captured but would come willingly if politely asked. The horse is sacred to her, and she is often seen as a white mare or a woman riding a white mare.
