In brief, we're looking for mini-meditatations, recipes, spells, magickal thinking. informative bits to help the reader become more self-aware, enhance their abilities and their lives, and bring reverence and ritual into daily life. Please do check out our Spells & Snippets page for some examples. What we're not looking for: gemstone information or information on magickal symbols, since we already have a place for that. Although we would be happy to see you set an affirmation or charm to poetry, if it's also backed up with a little bit of explanation on how the reader can use it, we're not taking poetry or songs for their own sake, nor are we collecting invocations. At some point we may have a contest for those types of things, but this is not it. We've received many entries that consisted only of a chant or invocation, sometimes with instructions to light a certain color candle. For us to use the spell, we need background information. Why a purple candle and not a red one? Why dittany of crete or mugwort? Why call Isis and not some other goddess? What is the spell specifically designed to do? How should the magician expect it to work? What effects have you gotten with this? Additionally, just blessing an item for a purpose, does not constitute a snippet unless you also tell us a bit about why you're using this particular type of item, and how the properties of that item enhance the spell, as well as giving ways of utilizing them. For two excellent examples of contributed snippets, see A Daily Devotional In Your Shower and Sugar For A Sweeter Attitude. The Rules: What's the fine print?
