Clouds billow across the midnight blue sky. The wind rises, brushing your arms with chill and excitement. You wait, watching the sky. Your cloak snaps and swirls around you, your face turned to a cloud which glows brighter than the others. And then the cloud parts and she peeks out, like a maiden seeking her lover from a curtained window. The cloud closes over her again, still you wait, knowing she will reward your constancy. Raising your hands to the sky, you gather the swirling power of the winds. And then the clouds break, and she rides the night, radiant as a queen. Her luminescent glow bathes you and you reach, feeling her tidal pull within you. And then it is no longer you and she, but you are she, glowing like a lamp in the wind and the night . . . .
Radiant with the light of the moon, this lovely feldspar is white with flashes of blue and rainbow light within, and vibrates with feminine wisdom and Goddess energy. Rainbow Moonstone is a "feeling" stone, rather than one for intellect. It enhances the intuition and brings flashes of insight based on emotional understanding. A wonderfully balancing stone, it helps us to deal with the changing cycles of our lives, bringing balance to our emotions, allowing us to release tensions and filling us with a feeling of calm reflection. A stone of psychic power, Rainbow Moonstone can be used to enhance divination and many psychics keep a moonstone in their pouch with their tarot cards or runestones, wear a moonstone necklace, or circle a quartz crystal with moonstones while divining, to help them get in tune with their intution, as well as to aid them in speaking to the person being read with gentleness and diplomacy. Said to be a stone for lovers, Rainbow Moonstone enhances our ability for empathy and understanding of each others feelings, and allows us to listen and speak to each other with calm and compassion. If you are having trouble with your mate, empower a Rainbow Moonstone with your love, understanding and willingness to flow in harmony with them, and give it to them as a gift. Rainbow Moonstone is an ancient cure for insomnia, and sleeping with it beneath your pillow can bring healing rest. It is a "traveler's stone" as well, and can be empowered with protective energies for those who are on journeys, helping them to find calm seas and restful harbors. It is a gemstone for new beginnings and for wishing. When starting a new enterprise, or working to bring your dreams into reality, take a piece of Rainbow Moonstone and charge it with your wishes for the future. Allow yourself to feel the glowing wonder of the Full Moon within yourself. Feel Her radiance and power, and the glowing energy that fills you through her, channel the energy into the stone and wear or carry it when working on your project. Rainbow Moonstone is sacred to all Lunar goddesses, and can be used to connect with them, and empower your workings with them. Moon Scrying Ritual On a Full Moon night, take a Rainbow Moonstone, a bowl of water and a bit of salt out somewhere outside and private. Spend a moment allowing yourself to ground, and to just enjoy the energy of the Moon and the night. Put three pinches of salt into the water (you may desire to say a small blessing on the water and the salt first, or you may just wish to think and feel it) and with the moonstone, stir the water seven times clockwise. (Seven is a Lunar number.) As you do so, imagine the Moon's light traveling through you and filling the bowl with radiant energy. Hold the bowl up to the Full Moon and allow it to fill it with Her blessing. If you have a specific purpose to your scrying, ask the Moon to bring your answer. Sit with the bowl on a table before you, or in your lap, with the Moon reflecting in the water. There's no need to stare hard, just allow yourself to drift and your eyes defocus. Some people may see actual pictures, many will get feelings and intuitons and ideas. Pay attention to all you see and hear and feel and think, and be sure to journal it later. When you are finished, thank the moon, and sleep with the moonstone under your pillow. You may wish to bottle the Moon-blessed water and use it in your rituals. (You can preserve it by adding a drop of brandy or other alcohol.) Rainbow Moonstone Incense At the first Lunar crescent, or the Full Moon, gather: Sandalwood A Rainbow Moonstone Crush the herbs together with a mortar and pestle. As you add each herb, spend a moment meditating and sending energy into the herb, and into the mix as you stir it, focusing on the energy of the Moon If you have a small piece of Rainbow Moonstone that you don't mind crushing up (and a bit of ambition) you can crush it and add it to the mix. Otherwise, when you are done with the herbs, take your Rainbow Moonstone, and empower it with your desires and the light of the Moon, and place it into the incense. Put the incense into a jar and wrap it with a dark cloth, and keep it somewhere dark for a full Lunar cycle, for the energy of the stone to radiate into the incense before using it. Then use the incense for Moon rituals or empowering Lunar magicks. |
